As part of a noise abatement programme for federal railways, DB AG has noise abatement plans. The erection area of the noise barriers is located in Zschortau, a district of the municipality of Rackwitz in Nordsachsen, Free State of Saxony on the 6411 Trebnitz–Leipzig line.
The construction of the noise barrier is part of an "active noise protection plan". The noise barrier is constructed from single and double sided highly absorbent aluminium wall elements with transparent material in some sections. The base uses steel pipe foundations. Earthworks and earthing measures are to be carried out within the framework of the erection. Most of the work is carried out with track-bound equipment during night-time lockdowns.
